Just a quick message to say big thank you. We followed a couple of your suggestions from the seminar on Monday, and have seen a huge change in Marianne. We stopped giving her milk between her bath time and bed time - so she was straight from bath into her bedroom. (To be honest, half the time she never really drank her milk. Since she stopped breastfeeding at 18 months, she never really took to milk before bed.) We put on the "Music for Dreaming" rather than our other lullaby cd, read a book and then ask what the last thing SHE would like before sleeping is. (Usually a story about her going to the beach or zoo.) Then we tell her to listen to the music and close her eyes.

My husband is absolutely amazed at the change. (He took over sleep duty when #2 arrived.)  She will then calmly give him a cuddle and go to sleep. I honestly didn't think these small changes would make such a difference, but they have. She used to take up to an hour to go to sleep - with a lot of protesting, wriggling & often kicking my husband. For the last 3 nights she has been very calm and he is out of her bedroom in less than 10 minutes.
